Week two of mentor training.

View along Schuylkill River pathway.

To start off the second week of BITS mentor training, the mentors in the service learning portion did a dry run for one of the locations they would be visiting. "City by the water" mentors went to the Schuylkill River to figure out the exact route for transportation, and what to do at this site. We actually learned more of what not to do at this site, since the mentors and myself ended up walking probably a good four miles total. We all did learn however the importance of staying hydrated, trying not to complain too much about the 95+ degree weather conditions, and to wear sneakers. The mentors are in the process of planning out activities for the youths, and we look forward to applying them in the weeks to come.
